If there was an option for "as soon as the cycle ends" I would have chosen that. I absolutely HATE it when people leave their stuff in the machine. As long as you take the clothes out without dropping them and place them somewhere clean, I say its perfectly ok to remove them when you're ready to do your laundry. You have no idea when the person is coming back. They should know when their laundry is done. The woman who yelled at you is selfish and rude.
