We even did the playing around that boys do when we were little but didn't feel gay about it. When I got married he was my best man and he and my wife became good friends. After about two years of marriage my job started sending me out of town a lot. My friend helped out at home with my wife and fixed up stuff that was broken. I thought I could trust them.
What happened is just the stuff that I only thought happened on TV shows. I came home Saturday instead of Sunday. I stopped and got some flowers and sexy underware so I could surprise my wife. You guessed it: when I walk in the front door there is my wife on the floor with my best friend, just going at it. It made me sick. The worst part was that they did not get upset. My wife said that they had hoped that this would happen, as they both loved me and wanted me to join them in love. I threw down the flowers and just ran.
Now I am staying with another friend. I just told him I don't want to be with my wife. But that is not true. I love my wife and I love my friend. Was I wrong to leave? Could a three way relationship work if all the people love one another? I think I want it to work. I don't feel put off by the thought of being with a man and a woman.
Please help me with your wise counsel.
I am so messed up!

See Entire Case »

Counsel: no

Save v. The problem begins in the match-deciding third set, or should I say, the lack of a match-deciding third set. By the time I'm ready to continue the onslaught of the previous set, the defendant is chain-chewing nicotine gum while complaining about his half-ruptured achilles tendon, his impending aneurism and/or the fact that he shouldn't have eaten that third Tito's taco the night before. This puts me in a precarious position. He is one of my oldest friends whom I've known since the second grade. I can't decide whether to feel sorry for him, kick him in the nuts, or drive him to the emergency room.
It will only get worse, I believe. A couple years ago they bought some pass to Disneyland and they pretty much go there about twice a month now. Seriously, every time I call them on the weekends, they're at Disneyland. Ugh. I think they're insane to hit the crowds and that heat and that traffic without actually being forced to do it by some 6 year old kid (they go by themselves). They seem to love it for reasons they have not quite been able to articulate to me. P+G have lived in L.A. most of their lives, by the way, so it's not like it's a novelty -- and they live about an hour away on a good day. They are nuts, right?

See Entire Case »

Judgment: for defendant

Coffee Bean v. Starbucks http://www.courtofopinion.com/cases/49DC3A78LO Wed, 31 Dec 1969 19:00:00 EST http://www.courtofopinion.com/cases/49DC3A78LO

2008-10-01
Coffee Bean v. Starbucks
Case Type: none
Status: Verdict Reached

Plaintiff Argument : Coffee Bean rules. Especially compared to Starbucks. First of all, the company isn't trying to take over the world, which is refreshing. While Starbucks has 15,000 + stores in 44 countries, CB is a nice little regional shop based mostly in So Cal.

At CB, you can order a "small" "medium" or "large" coffee like a normal person. At Starbucks you pretty much have to speak some weird form of Latin that's been dead for 10,000 years, just to get a simple drip coffee from a 'barista' (a.k.a. a 16 year old kid with acne and 2 days of training). And Venti? WTF? I just want a cup of coffee, kid.

Also, and this is probably a minor point, the coffee is simply better at Coffee Bean. Starbucks is a huge multi-national corporation and you can almost taste the focus group testing in their house mix. Enough already, right?

Oh, and in case you haven't noticed, CB customers are more attractive. I don't know what this means, really, but it's true. Just an added bonus for those who like people watching.

And finally.....a drive through, Starbucks? You're joking, right? Prosecution rests.

See Entire Case »

Judgment: for plaintiff
