    Is drinking bottled water bad?
    Case Type:
    Ethics
    Status:
    Verdict Reached
    Terms:
nine judges or 72 hours, whichever comes first
  2. Plaintiff:
    amelotter
    Plaintiff's Argument:
My buddy is always after me to stop drinking bottled water. What’s the big deal? I like clean, pure water. So sue me. He drinks Diet Coke like it’s going out of style. That’s metal.

Plus, I recycle. What's the harm?
  3. Defendant:
    snash
    Defendant's Argument:
Um, yeah. They don’t pump Diet Coke in your house though. And I recycle my cans.

There are so many problems with drinking bottled water that I don’t know where to start

First of all, if you believe that water is a basic human right, you shouldn’t be paying for it. You’re contributing to the corporatization of a basic right.

Second, it takes something like 8 gallons of water to make 1 gallon of bottled water.

Third, it has to be transported, which leads to way more greenhouse gases.

    Fourth, those bottles aren’t biodegradable.

Fifth, you look like a tool.

Get a filter for your faucet, dude
