  1. 2008-10-09
Should we tell our boss he has death breath
    Case Type:
    Ethics, Business
    Status:
    Verdict Reached
    Terms:
    thirteen judges
  2. Plaintiff:
    amelotter
    Plaintiff's Argument:
We have a boss whom we’ll call Larry, and we all work in pretty close quarters each and every day. For the past year and a half, Larry’s breath has been getting worse and worse and worse and worse. Now, it’s worst. It’s like a medical waste dumpster. It reaches across rooms. Nobody will ride the elevator with him. If he gets too close you can feel vomit coming up into your nose. I’m not exaggerating – it’s this bad.

So I say enough is enough. We need to tell him about his breath, because not only is it bordering on a war crime, but he might have a serious medical issue as well. If it turns out he has mouth cancer we’re all gonna feel awful that we didn’t tell him. But we need to do it together, so he can’t blame us individually.
  3. Defendant:
    snash
    Defendant's Argument:
No way! He’s our boss! He’ll never forget about it, and let’s be honest, none of us are moving anywhere anytime soon. We’re all staying put in this job for a long time to come. And if that means we throw up a little or hold or breath when he’s in the room, so be it. It’s bad form; I want no part of it.
